Grand Opening Tips
· Best day to hold a Grand Opening is Tuesday or Thursday
· Best time to hold a Grand Opening is from 5:30pm – 7:00pm with the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 6:00pm
· Your Grand Opening will be announced at the Chamber Monthly Membership Luncheon the second Wednesday of each month
· The Greater Irmo Chamber will need an article from you no later than 11:00am on the third Monday of the month prior to your Grand Opening. E-mail to: welcome@greaterirmochamber.com
· Grand Openings are printed in The Lighthouse newsletter which is published in The New Irmo News. The Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce also sends an announcement for your Grand Opening to our members in the weekly E-Blast of Upcoming Events.
· Irmo Dignitaries are available on Tuesdays or Thursdays only. The Chamber will need three weeks’ notice in order to notify Irmo Dignitaries for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The Chamber will invite representatives from Congress, the Senate, the House of Representatives, State Officers, the Irmo Town Mayor, the Irmo Town Council, and Miss Greater Irmo to be present during your Grand Opening.
· You are encouraged to invite as many people as you can. Send out invitations or postcards at least one week prior to your event. The Chamber can provide you with mailing labels for the membership. To insure that your business will be getting as much recognition in the community as possible, we will work together you get a large crowd out to your Grand Opening.
· To encourage people to stay, think about providing beverages (beer and wine is optional) and appetizers.
· Making your Grand Opening unique in some way will encourage individuals to attend your event.
